To start with a little background. Creating a brand name is the first thing you would be required to do when creating a shop on Daraz. Daraz also required to specify the brand of the product at the time of listing your products.

If a shop was recently created and this is the first time you signed up to upload products,  there is an option to create a brand name. By clicking and submitting your desired brand name. It will only take a couple of minutes to create the brand name in real time and show live. Now that it appears in the list, you can easily select it from the drop down menu and once the product is created, approved and live , it will appear on your product page at the top. Making it clear that the item is from your brand.

But now when sellers try to do the same thing or if a seller who has worked for a long time with Daraz tries to create the product. Doesn't find its brand name in the list. And when he thinks it could have been an error and tries to create. It says that the brand already exist.

Why is this issue Suddenly encountered?

Due to the recent government regulations, all the brands must be registered with Government of Pakistan. This enables the regulatory Authority to know how many individuals are operating in ecommerce industry. And to get every organization working on paper.

How to get registered by Government?

All sellers that want their brands to be listed on daraz.pk are required to submit Brand authorization letter. After which Daraz will approve their brand name and all products can be listed with their brand name. To get registered, you need to type brand authorization letter on google which will take you to the official website. As of now a fee of 3000 PKR along with some documents would be required to be submit.

Is there any other way?

Yes you can always register products with no brand name. This option appears on the side and can be choose. All your products would be listed with no brand name. But your shop name will still appears as it would be shown as sold by XYZ seller.

What is the advantages of selling by brand name?

There is no doubt that there are numerous advantages of selling with brand name. Although here is a few things you must first see. It is feasible to get registered if you are a big seller. Big in terms of numbers. For home based start-ups and minimum revenue generators this option sound too costly. However, having a brand creates awareness and trust of people. Which with time will grow and expand. Also as a brand when appears with the product. By simply clicking it, the customer will be taken to all your products that are listed on Daraz. Otherwise with no brand option , when a customer clicks it, he will be taken to a window of all the products of the same category from all sellers on Daraz. Thus decreasing sales at your end.
